Juliette Cezzar is an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the BFA Communication Design program at  Parsons / The New School , where she was the Director of the BFA Communication Design and BFA Design & Technology programs from 2011-2014. She established her small studio, ., in 2005. While books anchor the practice, her work has spanned a variety of media for clients such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art,  RES Magazine , The Museum of Modern Art, Vh1, The New York Times, Eleven Madison Park, and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Art, and Planning. She is the co-author of  Designing the Editorial Experience  with Sue Apfelbaum (Rockport) and author-designer of  Office Mayhem  (Abrams),  Paper Pilot , Paper Captain , and  Paper Astronaut  (Universe / Rizzoli). She holds an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University and a professional degree (B. Arch) in Architecture from Virginia Tech.

Lili Chin is an artist based in Brooklyn, NY. She attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and holds an MFA from the University of California, San Diego. In 2013, she was an Artist in Residence at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai. She spent her summer in a cabin in the Catskill mountains at the Platte Clove Artist Residency. In 2012 she was a resident at the Weir Art Farm and produced a site-specific installation on a Nature Preserve.

Her films and installations have been exhibited at numerous venues including All Thing Projects in New York, the New York Underground Film Festival, Anthology Film Archives, Millennium and more. Her work has been shown internationally in Los Angeles, San Diego, Austin TX, San Francisco, Edinburgh, Equador, Beijing, Shanghai, Mexico City, New York and more. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at Central Connecticut State University and LaGuardia Community College.

To derive the remaining 35 graphic design schools on this list, we took the US News rankings of fine arts programs into account, provided the schools offered some sort of undergraduate or graduate program that incorporated the important elements of graphic design.  So, we drew from the US News fine arts program rankings, and rankings of fine arts specializations , recognizing that some fine arts departments have relegated graphic design to other design-related corners of academia, often embracing it as a commercial form of fine art.
