Research and development papermaking industry

Publicly funded social protection and integration programmes are under intense pressure to deliver, in the face of austerity measures and large movements of people at a scale not seen since the Second World War. As governments and other stakeholders seek innovative ways to provide social protection to and foster the integration of migrants and refugees in their host societies, researchers, practitioners and policy makers are paying greater attention to the role of social and solidarity economy (SSE). With its principles and practices that aim to reintroduce values of equity and justice, humanize the economy and foster people’s participation and agency, this event will explore the role that SSE can play in combating some of the significant difficulties facing refugee and migrant populations, such as overcoming social exclusion and xenophobia, and challenges in accessing decent work. An Official Side Event of the 36th Session of the Human Rights Council.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) was established in 1975 to set up and promote MMR (Mumbai Metropolitan Region) as a destination for economic activity by boosting infrastructure development and improving the quality of life. In order to integrate the concepts and strategies of sustainable development into the MMR’s 3rd Regional Plan 2014-34 (RP) developed by the Planning Department of MMRDA, TERI and MMRDA signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2010 to work in collaboration on green buildings, transport, and environment.
